 From the President

ImageThe Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 321,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving working conditions for law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information and community involvement. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today's police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP.

Founded in 1915, we are still "Building on a Proud Tradition." The FOP in North Carolina emerged on the scene in 1954, with the first lodge located in Asheville. Currently in North Carolina, there are fifty-five local lodges totaling over 6,300 law enforcement officers from the mountains to the coast. The North Carolina State Lodge was formed on May 23, 1972 and is headquartered in Cary.

Rocky Mount Lodge #46 was chartered September 7th, 1985. We are a non-profit organization that is fully funded and supported by the people of Nash and Edgecombe Counties. We strive to improve the individual proficiency of our members in the performance of their duties and encourage social, charitable, and educational activities among law enforcement officers.

We are an organization that strives to cultivate a spirit of fraternalism and mutual cooperation between our members and the people we serve. We believe in the increased efficiency of the law enforcement profession in an effort to more firmly establish the confidence of the citizens of Nash and Edgecombe Counties.

Our lodge was dormant for several years, but recent events have allowed us to rebound and renew our commitment to those we serve. Outpourings of support have been phenomenal and have allowed our organization to once again become a vibrant civic organization that is serious about an investment in the twin counties.

From “Shop with a Cop,” to Communities in Schools we will continue to support others in need. We are well aware that volunteering our time and efforts will have a growing effect on proving the humanistic and caring nature of our profession.

Thank you for allowing us to grow with you as “A Uniting Force” in Nash and Edgecombe Counties.

Fraternally,

President Greg Brown
